Kings start 2010 NBA season without Tyreke Evans

The Sacramento Kings will start their 2010-2011 NBA season opener tomorrow night against the Minnesota Timberwolves, but will do so without their young star and reigning 2009 NBA Rookie of the Year Tyreke Evans. The young star will have to sit this one out, serving a one game suspension without pay mandated by the NBA commissioner David Stern and Kings GM Geoff Petrie for a offseason speeding violation earlier this summer. Tyreke couldn't be reached for comments due to team travel, but had this to say in a previous interview, "I understand the league suspension, I made a careless decision. I'm sorry for it and now we've moved on." The Kings will have their young star Friday night game against the newly looked New Jersey Nets.
